A Message From Our Founder

Nature has always been my sanctuary, offering solace and nurturing in a way that my childhood home could not. Growing up, I found comfort and companionship among the plants, developing a deep bond with the natural world that has only grown stronger with time. My love for nature shapes who I am and what I do daily—running, rock climbing, hiking, primitive camping, paddleboarding, snowboarding, and scuba diving are some of my favorite activities. A couple of years ago, I discovered the joy of snowshoeing. The tranquility of the snowy trails, with pure white snow blanketing the mountainside, was unforgettable.A magical moment occurred when a curious wild bird perched on my hand to eat from my palm, and this remains one of my cherished memories.
For nearly two decades, I climbed the corporate ladder, striving to excel in every aspect of my professional and personal life. Balancing a demanding career, raising children, and managing a household eventually led to burnout. As my children grew older and needed me less, I found more time to reflect on who I was and what truly made me happy. This introspection brought me back to my roots—nature and herbalism.
My journey into herbalism has been a joyful adventure, deeply intertwined with my love for the outdoors. Whether I’m walking or hiking, I am constantly observing and learning from the environment around me. It felt natural to educate myself further, taking classes in anatomy and physiology, phytochemistry, and botany, to deepen my understanding of the plants I had always cherished. During this journey, I quickly realized that the wonders of plant medicine could not erase the effects of a poor diet, so I also chose to study nutrition to provide a holistic approach to health.
Houston, with its sprawling urban landscape, presents unique challenges, including food deserts and a lack of holistic health resources. Rather than moving to a place more aligned with my values, I chose to create a community here, driven by the belief that many others share my desire for a healthier, more intentional way of living. Thus, Three Wishes Apothecary was born—a space dedicated to educating and inspiring others about the incredible benefits of herbalism, nutrition, and holistic health.
The name Three Wishes Apothecary symbolizes the three pillars of health: body, mind, and spirit. I believe that true health comes from nurturing all three aspects. You can take care of your body all day long, but if you are depressed, sad, or facing emotional or spiritual challenges, you still suffer. Likewise, if your mind is scattered and you cannot think clearly, you are not fully nourished. To achieve optimal health, it is essential to integrate these three pillars. Our mental health, physical health, and spiritual and community well-being are all interconnected. When one aspect is neglected, we experience deficiencies and dysregulation, leading to a breakdown of the whole system.
At Three Wishes Apothecary, we honor that we are not machines; we are part of nature—we are nature. This holistic perspective guides our approach to health and wellness, recognizing the profound interconnectedness of all aspects of our being.
Three Wishes Apothecary is not just a business; it is a manifestation of my lifelong passion and a tribute to the nurturing power of nature. Thank you for being here, and I look forward to meeting you, learning together, and growing our community. Let's embrace the beauty and wisdom of nature, bringing health and vitality into our lives.
