Sedative (mild)

Mild sedatives are often used to ease tension, promote relaxation, and support restful sleep, particularly when only subtle calming effects are needed. They are ideal for reducing mild stress or anxiety during the day without leading to excessive drowsiness. Herbal examples include lemon balm (Melissa officinalis), which provides gentle relaxation and is suitable for easing nervous stomach discomfort, and chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla), well-known for its soothing effect and suitability for both children and adults. Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) is another mild sedative that can be used as an infusion or aromatherapy to promote calmness and reduce agitation.

These mild sedatives can be integrated into daily rituals like teas or aromatherapy, offering a gentle way to support overall emotional balance and reduce nervous tension without heavy sedative effects.
